Today I am sharing matra chaat recipe. It’s very healthy. Yellow Peas are part of the legume family. These Whole Yellow Peas are about 1/4 inch wide and pale yellow to beige in color. They have a mild, slightly sweet flavor and soft, granular texture. It has several benefits :
- A rich source of vitamins A, B and C, fiber, protein and potassium.
- High levels of calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, iron and potassium, B vitamins and folic acid.
- Low in fat.
- High in soluble fiber peas help balance blood sugar levels while providing steady, slow-burning energy.
- Rich in protein

Yellow peas salad
- Whole yellow peas – 200grams
- Water 400 ml approx
- Tomato – 1 medium size
- Onion – 1 medium size
- Cucumber (optional) – 1 medium size
- Green chillis – 1
- Ginger – 1inch
- Lemon – 1 medium size
- Tamarind – small piece
- Salt – 1 tea spoon
- Garam masala – 1/4 tea spoon
- Mirch powder – 1/4 tea spoon
- Coriander (optional)- 10-15 leaves
- Cumin seeds powder- 1/4 tea spoon
- Black Salt -1/2 tea spoon

How to make it
- Soak the whole yellow peas overnight.
- Wash it in the morning and boil it in pressure cooker and give 3-4 vessels
- Finely chop the onions , tomato , cucumber and green chill.
- Finely chop the coriander.
- Finely chop the ginger in strips.
- Soak the tamarind in 50 ml water.
- Sieve tamarind and keep it’s water aside.
- Add the boiled yellow peas in a bowl.

- Add chopped onion , tomato , and cucumber.

- Add salt , black salt,red chilli powder , Garam masala , cumin seeds powder, chopped ginger and chopped green chillies.

- Add lemon and tamarind water.
- Add coriander and mix it.
- Serve it.
Tip: Remaining water of boiled peas can be used in soups or you can have it with salt to take its benefits.
